IPSA President Pablo Oñate delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the New Ideas in Political Science conference, jointly organized by the Polish Political Science Association, Jagiellonian University and Adam Mickiewicz University in Krakow, Poland from 14-15 March 2024.

In his opening address, Prof. Oñate thanked Magdalena Musiał-Karg, President of the Polish Political Science Association and IPSA Executive Committee member, as well as the other partners for their efforts in organizing this international conference. He also emphasized IPSA's commitment to the political science communities from Central and Eastern Europe, including the Central Eastern European Regional Workshop, which saw several associations gather in October 2023, with the collaboration of IPSA.

During the conference, participants from several European countries analyzed concepts and methodologies, reflecting on the role of political science in an ever-changing academic and social sphere. The conference facilitated productive discussions and the exchange of insights, promoting intellectual growth within the field.
