Get Ready for the Largest IPSA World Congress!

Publication date: Sun, 06 Jul 2025

The countdown is on! Only six days remain until the #IPSA2025 World Congress of Political Science gets underway in Seoul, South Korea (12-16 July 2025). The 2025 edition marks a historic milestone for IPSA, with over 3,500 pre-registered participants, the highest in IPSA’s 76-year history. Jointly organized with the Korean Political Science Association and the broader social science communities of Asia, the Congress promises to be IPSA’s largest and most diverse global gathering to date.

The 2025 Congress marks IPSA’s return to Seoul some 28 years since South Korea played host to the 1997 IPSA World Congress, the first ever held in Asia.

The Congress will see scholars, researchers, professionals, and students from 100 countries gather to discuss the theme Resisting Autocratization in Polarized Societies, with Professors Irasema Coronado and Azul A. Aguiar Aguilar serving as Program Co-Chairs. The Congress will feature over 3,000 paper presentations in 775 panels, spanning a wide range of topics and perspectives in political science.
