Postdoctoral Researcher – immigration, opinion publique and integration
Location: Université Concordia, Montréal, Canada
35 hours of work per week, Monday to Friday
Duration: two (2) years, subject to satisfactory performance
Salary: $70,000 per year, plus benefits (see below)

Description and context
The postdoctoral researcher will work under the direction of Antoine Bilodeau and his dynamic team, contributing to various projects within the Canada First Research Excellence Fund (CFREF)
research program: Migrant Integration in the Mid-21st Century: Bridging Divides.
Researchers specialising in migration studies and/or behavioural studies (any social science discipline) with experience in advanced quantitative research are invited to apply.
Research topics related to this postdoctoral fellowship include:
- Public opinion on immigration;
- Immigrant integration;
- Life experiences and immigration journeys of newcomers;
- The intersection of technology, artificial intelligence, immigration, and integration.
This postdoctoral fellowship is for a period of two years, subject to satisfactory performance.
The postdoctoral researcher must reside in Montreal and be based full-time at Concordia University for the duration of their term.
Canadian citizenship or permanent residency is not required for this position.
Roles and Responsibilities
The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to collective projects related to Bridging Divides, as well as conduct autonomous research for one day per week.
They will develop, present, and publish individual and collective research projects linked to Bridging Divides, and participate in knowledge mobilization activities.
The researcher will have no teaching responsibilities unless requested for professional development. However, they may be invited to give presentations or training sessions within Antoine Bilodeau’s research team. The postdoctoral researcher will have an office and administrative support Concordia University. The postdoctoral researcher will be integrated into Antoine Bilodeau's research ecosystem, including the Institute for Research on Immigration and Society (IRMS), the Réseau québécois de la recherche en immigration, en intégration et en relations interculturelles (RQ3i), and the Centre for the Study of Democratic Citizenship (CSDC).
Salary and Benefits
- Annual salary of $70,000 per year, plus benefits (sick leave, life insurance, parental leave and pension fund);
- Funding available for conferences and training (registration, travel expenses, etc.) upon approval;
- Access to professional training tools and resources for postdoctoral researchers at Concordia University.
Job Requirements
- Ph.D. in social sciences, specialising in migration studies and/or behavioural approaches;
- Bilingualism (French and English), spoken and written;
- Advanced skills in quantitative analysis;
- Autonomy.
Will be considered an asset:

- Experience and skills in panel data analysis;
- Experience and skills in qualitative or mixed research;
- Experience and skills in project management;
- Team spirit and collaborative attitude.
