IPSA is pleased to announce a new release in the IPSAMOOC series: Contemporary Issues in World Politics, taught by İlter Turan, IPSA Past President, and Mehmet Ali Tuğtan, Assistant Professor at Istanbul Bilgi University. Previously offered on the edX platform, the course has been updated and is now also available on Coursera, the biggest MOOC platform, with 175 million registered learners in 2025.
The course has been updated with AI-supported content and videos to reflect key developments that have reshaped the international order since the end of the Cold War. Learners will explore major global issues such as the rise of China and Russia, humanitarian crises, the aftermath of the Arab Spring, global terrorism, and challenges to the global commons—including climate change, pandemics, and refugee movements.
