Publication date: Thu, 22 May 2025
We are excited to announce that the 2025 IPSA World Congress of Political Science in Seoul has reached a new record with over 3,500 registered participants, marking the highest number of registered participants at the World Congress in IPSA’s 76-year history! We extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who submitted proposals, as well as our dedicated track chairs for their invaluable contributions.
Organized in collaboration with the Korean Political Science Association and social science communities of Asia, the IPSA World Congress will bring together scholars, researchers, professionals, and students from over 100 countries to discuss the theme of Resisting Autocratization in Polarized Societies. This record-breaking number of registrations is the result of incredible teamwork from the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), the Executive Committee members, Program Co-Chairs, and the IPSA Secretariat team.
One of the highlights of the Congress will be the plenary session by His Excellency Ban Ki-moon, former Secretary-General of the United Nations, titled Liberal Democracy, Multilateralism and Global Citizenship on 13 July.
Program Co-Chairs Irasema Coronado and Azul A. Aguiar-Aguilar are finalizing the Congress program, which will be published on the Congress website in early June.
