IPSA was present at the Latin American Studies Association (LASA) 2024 Congress, held in person in Bogotá, Colombia, and virtually from 12-15 June 2024.
IPSA Panel
IPSA was represented by IPSA Executive Committee members and 2025 IPSA World Congress Program Co-Chairs Irasema Coronado and Azul A. Aguiar-Aguilar, who organized and chaired the panel on Borders Unveiled: Navigating Complexities in the U.S.–Mexico Region through Migration, Feminism, and Artivism on 12 June. The panel explored the complex implications of emerging international migration flows and the continuing homicides of women in Ciudad Juárez, bringing a critical perspective to bear on the border wall through a feminist lens. Also examined was the potential of artivism and feminism to challenge the border industrial complex.
