Senior Lecturer

Do you enjoy working with young people, are you curious and want to share your knowledge? As a Senior Lecturer, you play a key role in the education of students. Alongside solid academic training, we place particular importance on the personal development of students. We support students in developing a curious and critical mindset, thus laying the foundation for the professional challenges of the next generation.

As a lecturer in Political Science in the fields of Qualitative Methods and Policy Studies, you can expect a collegial atmosphere; an environment that values the development of high-quality teaching, personal and professional commitment, as well as student-centred skills development.

In the event of a positive evaluation at the end of the fixed-term period of 4 years, the position will be made permanent. 

Your tasks:

• You will teach courses independently for an average of 8 SWS per semester. We would welcome the possibility to increase the level of employment if required and if budgetary resources allow  this;
• You will teach in the areas of Qualitative Methods and Policy Studies, and additionally in the interdisciplinary foundations and academic skills;
• You will also teach seminars supporting students with their Bachelor’s thesis as well as various (including research-led) seminars within the Master’s programme (e.g. seminars supporting students to develop a thesis proposal);
• You will take on administrative tasks, particularly in the administration of teaching;
• We expect you to keep abreast of the latest scientific developments and to participate in further didactic training, the exchange of experience between teachers and quality assurance measures.
