The Department of Economics and Law is part of the Glasgow School for Business and Society. It has a tradition of hosting international research projects both under the EU Horizon 2020 programme as well as its WISE Centre for Economic Justice. It brings together expertise on social justice, equalities, migration, and public policy. We have a strong body of international postdoctoral and doctoral researchers with expertise ranging from inclusive growth, populism, social inclusion to international politics. D.Rad is the fourth EU Horizon 2020 funded project since 2017.
This is a full-time researcher role to work for the EU Horizon 2020 funded D.Rad: De-radicalisation in Europe and Beyond: Detect, Resolve, Reintegrate project http://dradproject.com. The role holder will work with the project lead Prof Umut Korkut as well as the remaining D.Rad team at GCU composed of 5 other researchers. It is expected that the role holder will also carry out a co-leadership role within the GCU team and in the wider D.Rad consortium. The role holder will also belong to the WISE Centre for Economic Justice https://www.gcu.ac.uk/wise/
The essential criteria for consideration for this post are as follows:
- BA degree in Social Sciences including Politics or International Relations;
- PhD (awarded or expected imminently) in Political Science and/or International Relations;
- Experience in co-leading other EC funded or international projects;
- Experience with working as a co-lead for work packages and tasks in international projects;
- Liaise and network internally and externally to exchange information for effective working with international research partners;
- Experience and willingness to build networks with international stakeholders and interact with them to share research findings .
It is desirable that the post holder has previous research experience in the Middle East and/or the Balkans with foreign language abilities in one or more of the languages spoken in these regions. Previous experience with developing impact case studies for international research projects would also be an advantage for this post.
