The project “The geopoliticization of trade policy (GEOTRADE)”, led by Prof. Dr. Andreas Dür, has a vacancy for a postdoctoral researcher(3-year fixed term contract).

Project description: The project, which is funded by an Advanced Grant from the European Research Council (ERC), aims to contribute to a better understanding of the linkage between trade and security policy. It uses quantitative, qualitative, and experimental methods to achieve this purpose. More information on the project is available at https://andduer.github.io/geotrade.html.

Profile: Applicants should have a very good Ph.D. in political science or a closely related discipline, excellent methodological skills, and an excellent command of English. They should also have a research agenda that is relevant to the project. The successful candidate is expected to enjoy working in a team, be reliable, and exhibit a high level of commitment.

The position: The postdoctoral researcher is expected to actively contribute to the project and to work on publications relevant to the project, individually and in collaboration with other members of the project team.

The position is for three years, with an intended start date of October 1, 2024. The working time is 40 hours per week (100%). The salary, which includes health and occupational insurance,is in accordance with the Austrian collective bargaining agreement for university employees(bracket B1). Funds for conference or summer school attendance and research travel are available.

The Department of Political Science at the University of Salzburg is highly international, with a strong focus on excellence in research. It is one of the leading centres on trade policy research in Europe. As a result, the successful candidate will be able to pursue her/his research in a research group that produces cutting-edge research on trade policy.
