Five-year Research Fellowship

At Liverpool, we support world-class research potential. Our five-year research fellowships will develop future research leaders across a broad and diverse range of subjects in an inclusive and collaborative environment.

Along with two years of protected research time and career development support from The Academy, a permanent position at the University is also available when the tenure of the Fellowship ends.

Application documents

There are four documents which will form your application to our Research Fellowship Scheme:

• An application form
• A Narrative CV
• An anonymous Motivation Statement
• A Research Programme Summary.

Prescribed templates for these documents are included with the job description on the e-recruitment site.  More information and guidance on what to include in each document is available on our jobs page. Wherever possible you should try and avoid duplicating information in the documents.  These have been structured to allow you to focus on different aspects: your motivation, potential and experience.

The Motivation Statement will be reviewed anonymously and separately to the rest of your application documents.  This statement carries a weighting of 25%.

Together the Narrative CV and Research Programme Summary carry a weighting of 75%.

N.B. We do have other fellowship schemes available at the University, but the application processes are separate and currently run to different application timelines. As a consequence, our other fellowship schemes might not be open for applications at this point in time, but you are welcome to apply to any of the schemes if they have an open call.

Timeline
The timings of the presentations and interviews are still to be confirmed but it is envisaged that the selection process will be concluded by the end of December 2023.
