The Center for Socio-Political Data at Sciences Po is hiring a methods professor in political science.
The candidate should have completed a PhD in social sciences; her/his work and research should concentrate on the analysis of political attitudes, institutions, or policies with a strong and visible emphasis on quantitative methods and a methods-focused research agenda. A comparative research agenda will be appreciated. The successful candidate will have published in major peer-reviewed journals. S/he wiIl be expected to play an active role in the CDSP’s collective activities: seminars, academic events, participation in research networks, answering to French, European and international calls for tender.
Teaching
The successful candidate will teach in the Sciences Po’s undergraduate program (in Paris or in regional campuses), and will contribute to the training and supervision of participants in the graduate program in political science (Master’s and PhD) or any of the other graduate school at Sciences Po.
Teaching load:
- First 3 years: Two courses (24 hours per course): one at the BA level in one of the ScPo campuses outside Paris, the other at the MA level - 40 hours per year of other academic obligations.
- After three years: Three courses MA and BA in all ScPo campuses - 56 hours per year of other obligations
Teaching language: French and/or English.
Applications are due by 1 October 2024. Candidates should hold a PhD in social sciences (or should complete it before 1 October 2024)

- A CV with a list of publications;
- A Motivation letter;
- A Research statement (2 pages);
- A short Teaching statement (1 page);
- Up to 3 significant publications chosen by the candidate;
- The name of two academic referees.

Shortlisted candidates will present a research paper at job talks that will take place in Paris in November (public auditions). The position is expected to start in early 2025.
