The IPSA Research Committee on Local-Global Relations (RC47) will organize an international seminar titled Localizing Global Transitions: Power, Resistance, and Governance in an Age of Polycrisis. The event will take place on 1-2 October 2026 in Barcelona, Spain, and will be hosted by the Esade Law School.

We welcome contributions on (non-exhaustive list):

  • Local governance in response to global crises;
  • Territories in dispute, extractivism, and environmental justice;
  • Subnational diplomacy and city networks;
  • Digital platforms, surveillance, and urban citizenship;
  • Populism, participation, and political imaginaries at the local level;
  • Youth movements and post-development alternatives;
  • Decolonial approaches and knowledge production from the Global South;
  • Feminist, queer, and intersectional perspectives on local–global politics;
  • Interdisciplinary and Global South approaches are especially encouraged.
