About the Journal
The Journal of Cross-Regional Dialogues is an open access, peer-reviewed scientific journal of the Center for International Relations Studies (CEFIR) of the University of Liège. It aims to go beyond the euro-centric perspective of regionalism studies and open up to comparative analysis, as well as to inside-out and outside-in approaches to the phenomenon of regionalisation and regional organisations.

Theme: Resilience of global regionalism in times of crises
“Economic crisis”, “debt crisis”, “crisis of multilateralism”, “crisis of politics”, “migration crisis”, “environmental crisis”, “health crisis”, “Ukrainian crisis”... so many problems that feed the feeling that we are constantly living “a crisis” or “in crisis” and that our political institutions, including regional organisations, are in jeopardy.

A crisis is a widely used term to describe the state of a system that is in deep trouble, undergoing a shock or even a rupture and is thus destabilised and unbalanced. However, out of upheaval can come change: the crisis then presents an opportunity to reinvent, redefine, rebuild.

This issue aims to focus on this notion of crisis and to study it in the light of the phenomenon of regionalism. Interested researchers are therefore invited to submit contributions investigating the idea of crisis in terms of its meaning, construction, components, impact and potential for change on regionalism, interregionalism or a particular regional organisation.

Submission of abstracts and articles
Researchers wishing to submit an article for the Journal’s fourth issue are invited to send their abstract to jcrd@uliege.be by mid-August 2022. The length of the abstract should be between 300 and 500 words (including a theoretical and methodological reflexion), excluding references, and should be accompanied by 3 to 5 relevant keywords describing the contribution, as well as a biography of about 150 words.

Researchers whose abstract has been accepted will be contacted at the end of August and will be invited to send their article by the 6th of January 2023. The paper may be written in English or French and may not exceed 8000 words, excluding abstract, references, bibliography and biography. A propos de la Revue
La Revue des Dialogues Inter-Régionaux est une revue scientifique en accès libre et évaluée par les pairs du Center for International Relations Studies (CEFIR) de l’Université de Liège. Elle a pour ambition de dépasser la perspective euro-centrique qui caractérise l’étude du régionalisme et de s’ouvrir à l’analyse comparative, ainsi qu’aux approches inside-out et outside-in du phénomène de régionalisation et des organisations régionales.

Thème : Le régionalisme international à l’épreuve des crises : quelle résilience ?
« Crise économique », « crise de la dette », « crise du multilatéralisme », « crise du politique », « crise migratoire », « crise environnementale », « crise sanitaire », « crise ukrainienne »...autant de problèmes qui nourrissent le sentiment que nous vivons constamment « une crise » ou « en crise » et que nos institutions politiques, dont les organisations régionales, sont mises en péril.

Notion largement répandue, la crise plus précisément qualifie l’état d’un système qui connait un trouble profond, subit un choc, voire une rupture et en est déstabilisé, déséquilibré.Néanmoins, d’un dérèglement peut naître un changement : la crise présente alors l’opportunité de réinventer, redéfinir, reconstruire.

Le présent numéro ambitionne de s’attarder sur cette notion de crise et de l’étudier à l’aune du phénomène du régionalisme. Les chercheurs intéressés sont dès lors invités à soumettre des contributions investiguant cette idée de crise sous l’angle, notamment, de sa signification, sa construction, ses composantes, son impact, son potentiel de changement sur le régionalisme, l’interrégionalisme ou sur une organisation régionale particulière.

Procédure pour la remise des abstracts et articles
Les chercheurs souhaitant soumettre un article pour ce quatrième numéro de la Revue sont invités à transmettre leur abstract à l’adresse jcrd@uliege.be pour la mi-août 2022. La longueur de l’abstract doit être en 300 et 500 mots (incluant une réflexion théorique et méthodologique) hors références, et doit être accompagné de 3 à 5 mots-clés pertinents décrivant la contribution, ainsi que d’une biographie d’environ 150 mots.

Les chercheurs dont l’abstract aura été retenu seront recontactés fin août et seront invités à nous faire parvenir leur article pour le 6 janvier 2023. Celui-ci peut être rédigé en français ou en anglais et ne peut excéder 8000 mots, hors abstract, références, bibliographie et biographie. Davantage d’informations quant aux consignes de rédaction sont accessibles via ce lien.
