Journal/Call for Papers Description

The Jindal Global Law Review (JGLR), the flagship journal of the O.P. Jindal Global University, Jindal Global Law School (published by Springer and indexed by SCOPUS as the first law review published in India), is calling for expressions of interest for manuscript submission. Authors are invited to submit manuscripts for the Reviews Section of its December 2023 issue, which will accompany the special section on ‘Cultural Expertise and Litigation: Practices in South Asia and Europe’. The broad focus of this Reviews Section is the interaction between law and culture. An indicative list of titles can be found in the attached file or link, but applicants are welcome to suggest other titles in their expression of interest.

JGLR particularly welcomes expressions of interest from reviewers who may be able to offer a less conventional perspective on the resource(s) under review, depending on their regional or subject specialization. As stipulated in its Aims and Scope, ‘JGLR is especially interested publishing works that expand and reimagine the boundaries of the legal discipline through innovations in method and form. We expansively understand “law” as an assemblage of ideas, theories, methods, concepts, norms, traditions, politics, moralities, aesthetics, doctrines, policies, pluralities, and life practices.’

Junior scholars, including postgraduate students with some experience in academic publishing, are particularly encouraged to apply. The schedule for completing the manuscripts is as follows:

• Deadline for expressions of interest: 31 May 2023

• Notification of applicants: rolling basis, by 15 June 2023

• Deadline for the submission of the manuscript: 31 July 2023

All submitted manuscripts are subject to review by the Editorial Board and, should specialization or focus necessitate it or in case of doubt, also external peer reviewers. The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject manuscripts which are not a good fit with the thematic scope of the upcoming issue or do not meet the academic standards of the Journal. Expressions of interest are to be sent until 31 May 2023 to jglr@jgu.edu.in. They should contain a short bio or a link to a bio available online, and a specification of the reasons of interest in writing a manuscript on the particular title(s)/case(s) for the upcoming issue of JGLR in light of the Aims and Scope of the Journal as well as the confirmation of availability to deliver the manuscript within the deadlines provided above.

Questions are welcome to be addressed to jglr@jgu.edu.in.
