The Use of AI in Political Science Research and Teaching: Current Challenges and Opportunities

Artificial Intelligence (AI) already had a significant impact on society and science, promising outstanding advancements. At the same time, there are major ethical and scientific integrity concerns related to its use, which is still largely unregulated, including in political research and teaching. The contributions to this panel aim to explore how AI can be used ethically for research and teaching purposes in political science, which are the current limitations, and how they can be addressed in ways that can advance knowledge in the field. We welcome single case studies, comparative research, experimental research, as well as methodological papers, developing empirical and / or conceptual aspects of such debates which could be the basis of a collective volume on the topic, as part of the newly relaunched RC33 book series.
