

IPSA at the 2025 LASA Congress in In San Francisco

IPSA was present at the 2025 Congress of the Latin American Studies Association (LASA), which took place in San Francisco and virtually from 23-26 May 2025.
IPSA held a panel titled Practitioner-Academic Dialogue: Bridging Theory and Practice in Political Science and Public Policy on 23 May. Chaired by IPSA Executive Committee member Vanessa Elias de Oliveira, with IPSA President Pablo Oñate as discussant, the session aimed at fostering meaningful exchanges between academics and practitioners in political science and public policy. The discussion explored barriers to collaboration and knowledge transfer, successful models of academic-practitioner partnerships, and strategies for strengthening the connection between theoretical insight and practical application.
