Job Description

The Division of Political Studies at the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics (CIDE, MX), Mexico City, invites applications for a tenure-track position in political science at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning in Fall 2026. This position is subject to budgetary approval. 

We seek candidates working on Political Behavior or Comparative Politics. Research topics may include, but are not limited to electoral behavior, public opinion, political participation, judicial politics, democratic accountability, democratization and democratic backsliding, and political communication. We welcome applications from scholars using a wide range of theoretical and methodological approaches. 

CIDE is a public research center committed to cutting-edge social science research and excellence in undergraduate and graduate education. The Division of Political Studies is a collegial and active research community whose faculty regularly publish in leading international journals. 

Successful candidates will be expected to conduct original research and publish in leading international academic journals and presses, teach at least one course per semester at the undergraduate or graduate level, and contribute to the intellectual life of the Division and the institution.

Applicants must hold a PhD in political science or a related field before the start date.
