The Department of Political Science in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Calgary, Canada, is proud to announce our biennial competition for the prestigious Mark Grosjean Postdoctoral Fellowship in Political Science.
Launched in 2024 through a generous and pathbreaking endowment-in-perpetuity gifted by the Grosjean family, this postdoctoral fellowship is one of the largest in Political Science in Canada. The Mark Grosjean Postdoctoral Fellowship is for two-years and valued at CAD$70,000 per year plus a $6,000 research stipend and benefits.
Open to Canadian and International applicants working in any area of political science, the Mark Grosjean Postdoctoral Fellowship is intended to allow the Fellow to continue to develop an original research agenda.
Additional opportunities to teach within the Department of Political Science and to apply for Canadian Federal Government research grants may be available.
The Mark Grosjean Postdoctoral Fellow will take up the position between May and September 2027 in the Department of Political Science at the University of Calgary. Applications are due November 1, 2026.
The fellowship is named after the son of Dr. Cheri Stanzeleit and Mr. Adam Grosjean. Mark was one of the most exceptional students to have come through the University of Calgary’s Political Science department. A BA Honours graduate, he was awarded the 2017 Silver Medallion in Political Science and was set to begin a direct-entry PhD program at the University of Toronto in political philosophy when he tragically passed away in 2018. This fellowship honours his legacy.
The University of Calgary is located in Calgary, Canada's fourth-largest city. Calgary is known for its vibrant atmosphere and welcoming, diverse community. Just a short drive away, the majestic Rocky Mountains offer year-round opportunities for skiing, hiking and breathtaking views.
