Social Science Research Funding and Collaboration in the Indo-Pacific: Regional Summit

The Association of Asian Social Science Research Councils (AASSREC) is organizing the inaugural Regional Summit for Social Science Research Funding and Collaboration in the Indo-Pacific, co-hosted with the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT). This event will take place from 9-10 May 2024, in the vibrant city of Bangkok.

The summit will be a platform for knowledge sharing and connection and will focus on three key themes:

• Identifying opportunities for bilateral and multilateral collaboration and funding calls, including discussion of innovation in program design, and shared research assessment, funding and impact evaluation challenges.
• Discussing opportunities to leverage social science research funding and expertise to achieve better outcomes through policy engagement and research translation.
• Determining priorities for AASSREC’s new Indo-Pacific social science funding program.

Convened as part of AASSREC’s ‘Boosting Social Sciences and their Contribution to Better Lives across the Indo-Pacific‘ program, this free event will feature keynote speakers, interactive workshops, panel sessions, a networking dinner, and ample opportunities to exchange experiences with stakeholder organisations across the region.
