International Conference: A New, Even More Brave World... The Hope of Faith and the Hope of Politics

We would like to invite you to submit abstracts of your presentations for the 4th Biennial International Conference on Religion and Politics entitled "A New, Even More Brave World… The Hope of Faith and the Hope of Politics", which will take place from 30 November to 1 December 2023 at the Institute of Political Sciences and Public Administration of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw (Poland). 

We want to devote this year's edition of the conference on the political science of religion - starting from the widely discussed concepts of the "new world order" - to the question of the shape of political and eschatological hopes. We especially encourage you to submit papers on the following topics: a) approach to the dignity of the human person and human rights in the context of the de-Christianization of the West and the growing importance of other religious or cultural traditions (the world of Islam or China); b) projects of the "new world order" in the perspective of reflection on "political religions"; c) the consequences of the disappearance of reference to transcendence for the organization of social and political life; d) concepts of progress in various religious and cultural traditions.

We also invite you to present current research in the field of political science of religion. As we have in the tradition of our conferences, there will be parallel panels on current research on religion and politics alongside the main sessions. 

Guide for authors

Applications should include the title of the presentation along with the abstract (max. 300 words).

The conference will be held in Polish and English. We provide simultaneous translation for plenary sessions. Parallel panels will be held in one of the two languages mentioned.

Proposals for presentations should be sent via the application form on the conference website.
