Statistics, Politics and Policy

Real Time data has attracted great interest in the international research community and has become a versatile tool to better investigate the dynamics of political processes.

These approaches use data provided or gathered in real-time to improve predictions or better explain the outcome and dynamics of patterns and variables in relation to their time of incident. They are suitable to improve our understanding of many policy and politics related topics depending on their time of incident. Using information about the exact timestamp of stimuli, cases, actors, consumers or recipients, many unsolved social, economic, health and political research questions can be re-evaluated and better understood.

Statistics, Politics and Policy (SPP) is calling for contributions related to Real-time data with a political, economic, health or social focus and encourages researchers in related disciplines to submit their papers for this call of papers to the special issue Vol.3 2020.

Topics of interest
Statistics, Politics and Policy seeks contributions applying Real-Time data including, but not limited to, the following topics and fields:

• Communication studies;
• Digital and Social Media;
• Political Communication;
• Televised Debates;
• Voting Behavior and Elections;
• Continuous Response Research;
• Big Data Research;
• Health and COVID-19;
• Internal and External Security;
• Peace and Conflict Research;
• Political Mobilization and Polarization;
• Economic Policies and Development;
• Digital Economy and User behavior;
• Methodological Advances in Measuring Real-Time Data and related Research Methods.

Submissions might cover a wide range of real-time data, e.g. continuous response measurement - or can investigate the performance of various different statistical methods in comparison.

Submission Instructions

All research related works are welcome. Please note that contribution length is flexible allowing contributions of 10 to 25 pages (including references, not exceeding 12.000 words in total). Contributions with new and innovative approaches are highly encouraged.

Submissions are due on October 31, 2020

All manuscripts should be submitted to our official SPP ScholarOne online center: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/dgspp and should have appropriate formatting to be considered ready for peer-reviewing.
