Visual resistance has become an integral part of anti-imperialist struggle all over the world. It transcends not only the symbol of the movement, rather becomes the source of strength, inspiration and defiance. At this moment, art-work of a closed fist depicts and spreads the message against unjust war all over Tehran, in Iranian capital, to express the resolve of visual resistance and anti-imperialist struggle. Latin America and Global South have the tradition of visual resistance through its murals, paintings, sculptures, art-work, posters etc. From Mexico to Venezuela to Argentina to Cuba to Palestine to Iran and beyond---visual resistance binds all of them together. The panel aims to examine the impact of visual resistance in people’s mindscape. The panel seeks papers on the affective nature of the visual resistance, its appeal as a symbol to mobilize people. The panel invites papers on the broad theme of visual resistance on the streets, visual and print media as well as social media. At this moment of postcolonial period, when US imperialism is in full swing, imperialist hegemonic tendencies are not far behind! Nevertheless anti-imperialist struggle has a historical legacy of resistance globally. In the framework of resistance, visual art plays important role. Visual resistance is a collective palate. In which anti-imperialist struggle spreads, flourishes and consolidates its inner core and can march forward. The panel encourages different forms of paper presentations, while abstract should be in conventional mode.
