Democratic institutions and practices can persist under pressure, but resilience depends on political actors, public participation, and the capacity to defend democratic norms. This panel welcomes research on how legislatures, courts, election bodies, local governments, media, civil society organizations, and citizens respond to democratic erosion. Papers may investigate successful and limited forms of resistance, institutional adaptation, coalition-building, and the conditions that sustain democratic renewal.
