Min Hee Go is a Professor in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea. Prior to joining Ewha, she earned her Ph.D. from the University of Chicago and previously served as an Assistant Professor at William Paterson University of New Jersey (WPUNJ) and Brooklyn College, City University of New York (CUNY).
Her research is broadly focused on diversity and sustainability, encompassing topics such as identity politics, sustainable development, and inequality. Her first book, Rethinking Community Resilience: The Politics of Disaster Recovery in New Orleans (NYU Press, 2021), examines how civic participation after Hurricane Katrina influenced recovery processes, often exacerbating inequalities among neighborhoods and increasing vulnerability to future risks. Other than her book, Prof. Go has published in various peer-reviewed journals including Democratization, Journal of Urban Affairs and the American Review of Public Administration. Her current research project explores gender inequality in East Asia, analyzing public perceptions and institutional responses to gender equality in Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan. To support this research, she was a Taiwan Fellowship recipient and visiting scholar at National Taiwan University in Spring 2021, and a visiting fellow at Waseda University in Tokyo in Fall 2024.
At Ewha, Professor Go served as Department Chair (2021) and Vice Associate President of the Office of University Planning and Coordination (2022–2024). Within the Korean Political Science Association, she served as Secretary for General Affairs (2021) and is currently a member of both the Executive Research Committee and the Local Organization Committee for the 2025 IPSA World Congress of Political Science in Seoul.
