The Influence of the Organized Civil Society in the Public Policy

The presence of Organized Civil Society in public policies is considered important because it represents the interests and needs of different population groups, mainly those that may be excluded or underrepresented in decision-making. In this way, Organized Civil Society can participate in different issues.
This panel presents some works that allow us to know how the Organized Civil Society gets involved with governments to address various issues. The papers included in this panel address the role of civil society in public mental health policies for LGBTQAI+ people in Portugal, the influence it has on the international agenda, the impact of migrant associations on public policies in the host country, such as South Korea, the relevance of protests in Nigeria to combat hunger and bad governance, the importance of women's networks to solve problems of gender violence in Chihuahua, Mexico and the influence they have on the geopolitical landscape of the European Union.
