Interdisciplinary Conference in the Humanities and Social Sciences: Empowering Emerging Researchers

The conference is a forum for academics and students interested in interdisciplinary research in the Humanities and Social Sciences. As such, we would like to extend this call for papers to research that
explore interdisciplinary connections in the Humanities and Social Sciences. While papers belonging to any discipline in the Humanities and Social Sciences are welcome, the conference emphasizes studies in Language, Culture, Communication, and Social Sciences.

The conference registration is free of charge and has a deadline of 6th Apr. The full paper / extended abstract submission deadline is 20 April.

Call for Papers

Interdisciplinary Conference in the Humanities and Social Sciences: Empowering Emerging Researchers First Interdisciplinary Conference in the Humanities and Social Sciences: Empowering Emerging Researchers is jointly organized by the Institute of Cross-cultural Studies (ICCS) at UIC in Zhuhai, China, and the David C. Lam Institute for East-West Studies (LEWI) at HKBU in Hong Kong.

Conference Theme

The conference is a forum for academics and students interested in interdisciplinary research in the Humanities and Social Sciences. We particularly encourage papers that explore interdisciplinary connections in the Humanities and Social Sciences. While papers belonging to any discipline in the Humanities and Social Sciences are welcome, the conference emphasizes studies in language, culture, communication, and the social sciences. 

All submissions will be peer-reviewed for inclusion in conference proceedings. We ask conference participants to adhere to the following deadlines and style guide.

Conference Paper/Abstract Submissions

Full papers

• Word limit: 2000 - 2500 words including references. Appendices will NOT be included.
• Style, Structure & Formatting: Papers should follow the suggested structure below unless their
• disciplinary conventions do not allow it (e.g. Literature Studies).

Title

• Abstract (150 words)
• A list of 3-5 keywords Introduction
• Literature review
• Method
• Findings & Discussion (or a separate Findings & Discussion Section)
• Conclusion
• List of references. Use APA style.

Extended Abstract Submission

While we encourage all academic staff to consider option 1 above, interested colleagues can submit an extended abstract for review and publication.

• Word limit: 500 words. References are not included in the word count.
