Events - Host an IPSA Event

Bidding Process for IPSA World Congresses - 2020 RFP will open in 2017.

Cities interested in hosting the IPSA 20th World Congress of Political Science will be asked to respond to a specially-prepared Request for Proposal (RFP) taking into account the requirements necessary for ensuring a successful event.

Application must be submitted by an IPSA collective member (National Association of Political Science):

A Convention & Tourism bureau, a conference center, a Destination Management Company or a Professional Conference Organizer can support our members in preparing their bid.

A selection committee will review each bid in detail, and a shortlist of candidates will be produced. Each short-listed city will receive a site visit/inspection.

The selection committee will present a report to the IPSA Executive Committee (EC), featuring the results of the site visits. The EC will then vote on the host city for the next World Congress of Political Science.

The bidding documents will only be available once the Request for Proposal is launched.

Hosting an Inter-Congress International Conference

IPSA invites its collective members (national and regional associations) to host an international conference between congress years. Past examples are Montreal 2008, Luxembourg 2010 and Sao Paulo 2011.

A representative of the interested member association (e.g. President or Secretary General) should contact IPSA at info@ipsa.org
