The Hertie School of Governance in Berlin prepares exceptional students for leadership positions in government, business, and civil society. In partnership with the Hertie School centres of competence on digital governance, international security, fundamental rights, and European affairs, the Data Science Lab aims to contribute to common good through high-impact research, teaching, and outreach.
We are recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (f/m/div) on a full time basis (40 hours/week).
The contract shall start in September 2019 (or as soon as possible thereafter) and is for an initial three-year period that can be renewed.
Develop an independent research programme on neural network models for natural language understanding of political texts
Contribute to grant-funded projects on NLP and other core activities of the Data Science Lab
- A completed PhD
- A strong publication record in natural language processing or a related field
- Experience in using artificial network models for research purposes
- Excellent oral and written English skills, German skills are not a must-have
