The Research Committee 32 "International Studies, Area Studies and Globalization" aims to facilitate communication, expand networks and provide a forum for intellectual exchange and debate among researchers, academics, teachers and professionals from different disciplines of the social sciences and humanities. Three main reasons justify this working group: firstly, the studies of cultural areas, international relations and transnational and global processes are not sufficiently visible and recognized within the social sciences; Second, these studies face specific methodological, empirical, epistemological and theoretical challenges; and third, communication is insufficient among researchers working on third countries, international and transnational and global political and social problems. Therefore, open to multidisciplinary theoretical and methodological approaches, the objective of this Research Committee is to offer an opportunity to researchers to share their experiences.
