Synopsis

If you are a PhD student working in Public Policy, Public Management, or Political Economy, don’t miss the first edition of the PPRN Graduate Workshop. Doctoral students will have the chance to present their ongoing research in a friendly and constructive environment and receive feedback from members of the UCL Public Policy & Management and the King’s College London Public Policy & Regulation research clusters, as well as from members of the LSE Department of Government. It will be a unique opportunity to improve your research, to meet other researchers studying similar topics, and to expand your professional network.

The PPRN Graduate Workshop will consist of three panels:
1. Public Policy
2. Public Management
3. Political Economy

Although we cannot provide travel reimbursement, all PhD students, post-docs, and early career researchers from any university can participate. Presenters will be assigned a discussant from the
cohort of senior scholars and will have 15 minutes to present their research and 30 minutes for discussion. Discussants will read the paper in advance and will provide comments.

At the end of the workshop (6.00-7.00 pm), there will be a roundtable on Is there Life after the PhD? Public Policy and the Job Market, where established professors and lecturers will share suggestions on how to be prepared and competitive for the job market.

Coffee breaks, lunch, and wine reception will be provided.

Please submit your abstract (max. 400 words) to publicpolicyresearchnetwork@gmail.com by 20th April 2019. The deadline for submitting the final papers is 30th May 2019. We welcome early
