Venue: The university’s main campus lies immediately south-west of Tjörnin lake in the centre of Reykjavík. It covers about 10 hectares in total. There are around 30 buildings in total, the oldest of which, Gamli Garður, was built in 1934. The Main Building overlooks a semi-circular lawn, featuring a statue of Sæmundur Fróði. In 2007, a new service centre was opened next to the main building, and many of the most vital service desks were relocated there.
