IPSA is pleased to announce that the African Association of Political Science (AAPS) has joined the ranks of IPSA’s political science association (PSA) members.

The Committee on Participation and Memberships approved the AAPS candidacy at IPSA Executive Committee meeting no. 135, held virtually on 24-25 April 2021.

The African Association of Political Science became the 61st collective member of IPSA and will be a voting member at the upcoming IPSA Council, to be held in conjunction with the World Congress of Political Science in July.

Following its revival in 2018, the African Association of Political Science (AAPS) was formally relaunched with the support of IPSA on 25 March 2021. Prof. Christopher Isike, IPSA Vice President and Special Representative for Ethics, was elected as President of the AAPS for a two-year term (2021-2023).

IPSA warmly welcomes the AAPS and extends its best wishes for success to political scientists in Africa.
