Call for Award Description

Submitting a nomination
To nominate, please email a formal nomination letter to prizes@ecpr.eu.
Nominations must include, as three separate PDF files:

  • Formal nomination letter including book title and year of publication, and the rationale for nominating this book
  • Book as a PDF file
  • Reviews if available

Eligibility

  • The prize is open to political science scholars.
  • Candidates must be from an ECPR member institution.
  • Only member institiutions can nominate, however, the candidate and nominator do not have to be from the same institution.
  • The work must be a published monograph.
  • Entries must be published in the two years before the year of award (i.e. between 2019 and 2020, for the 2021 prize application).

Exclusions

  • Self-nominations are not accepted.
  • Nominations from publishers are not accepted.
  • Members of the ECPR Executive Committee, ECPR Director, or Editors of any ECPR books, journals or blog are not eligible for this prize.
  • Edited volumes are not eligible.

Prize Jury
Eligible nominations will be reviewed by a jury comprised of the Convenors of the ECPR Standing Group on International Relations (SGIR), Critical Peace and Conflict Studies, Human Rights and Transitional Justice, International Political Theory, and two of the Executive Committee of the ECPR.

  • Mary Farrell ECPR Executive Committee Member
  • TBC nominated convenor of the Standing Group of International Relations
  • TBC nominated member of the Standing Group on Critical Peace and Conflict Studies
  • TBC nominated convenor of the Standing Group on Human Rights and Transitional Justice
  • TBC nominated convenor of the Standing Group on International Political Theory

Prize announcement and delivery
The winner will be announced in June 2021.
