2010.04.15-16 | 1st Change Africa and Transform Politics conference (Washington, DC, USA) Print E-mail
The International Society for Africa (SoAf) is hosting its 1st Change Africa and Transform Politics conference on April 15-16, 2010 at the Carnegie Endowment for Peace in Washington, DC. The theme of the conference is Dissecting Change and Opportunity in the Age of Obama. It will feature the following three thematic tracks:

1. Systems thinking: introducing the theory and application of systems thinking to social and political justice.
2. Straight talk: exploring constructive, productive, and inclusive the North-South dialogues.
3. Democracy, Development and Decisions (DDDs): focusing on the impact of and solutions to the economic downturn for populations overall.

             Invited Keynote Speaker: Johnnie Carson, Assistant Secretary for African Affairs (U.S. Department of State).

Registration fee to the conference is $125 and it does covers breakfast and lunch.
