Tenure-track position in the field of comparative politics or public opinion (Mexico) Version imprimable Suggérer par mail
The Division of Political Studies at the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics (CIDE) is soliciting applications for a tenure-track position in the field of comparative politics or public opinion at the assistant professor level.  CIDE is a public research institution specializing in the social sciences.  The Division of Political Studies currently employs fifteen professors and specializes in the study of parties and party systems, political institutions, executive-legislative relations, judiciaries, democratization processes, comparative political economy, and political philosophy and the history of political thought.  The minimal teaching requirement is two courses per year.  Salaries are in Mexican pesos and competitive with those in the United States.  Candidates are invited to visit www.cide.edu to learn more about CIDE and the Division of Political Studies.

The successful candidate should work on topics relevant to comparative politics and must demonstrate strong theoretical skills and research methods.  The candidate’s current and future research should also be relevant to the study of Mexico.  The candidate is expected to publish in leading academic presses and journals in his/her area of specialization and must have the Ph.D. in hand by the time of appointment.  CIDE´s language of business is Spanish and the candidate must demonstrate sufficient Spanish language competence or interest in learning Spanish to be able to give courses in Spanish within one year of appointment.  Candidates from other fields whose research is relevant to the study of Mexico are encouraged to apply.
