POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Sciences Po, Paris Center for International Studies and Research (CERI) Research Fellow, International Relations
The Center for International Studies and Research (CERI, Centre d’études et de recherches internationales), based at Sciences Po in Paris, seeks to fill a full-time permanent position at the level of Research Fellow.
Minimum qualifications include an earned doctorate in one of the following social sciences: political science, sociology, history or economy. Candidates must have completed their Ph.D. dissertation prior to submitting their application and have defended their dissertation before November 17th, 2008. An excellent command of French is expected from international candidates.
We are open to candidates from any area related to International Relations. However, in case of equal quality applications, preference will be given to applicants working on topics related to international organisations, US foreign policy, strategic studies and international security issues.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach classes in his/her field of specialization in the Sciences Po undergraduate and/or master’s programs
Recruitment procedure:
Applications should include the following documents: A detailed curriculum vitae including a list of publications; A copy of the Ph.D. dissertation; A copy of the dissertation defence report ; A research project (20 pages maximum) underlining the applicant’s potential contribution to CERI’s research programs; A 2-page maximum summary of the research project; A sample of the applicant’s previous academic work (e.g. a copy of a publication or of a paper presented at a scientific symposium).

Review of applications will begin Monday, November 17th, 2008. All applications will be reviewed and a short-list of pre-selected candidates will be established by CERI’s Research Board on the basis of anonymous evaluation reports. Short-listed candidates only will be interviewed by CERI’s Research Council on Monday the 15th and Tuesday the 16th of December, 2008. The recruitment will be confirmed in the next few days by Sciences Po president.
The position is to be filled starting January 1st, 2009.
