UChannel Service: Public Lectures and Research Conferences Available Online Print E-mail
More than forty academic institutions and policy-oriented organizations (e.g., Princeton, Yale, Harvard, Chicago, Columbia, the University of California system, the Royal Society, Oxford, London School of Economics, Peking University, National University of Singapore, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Brookings Institution) have organized the UChannel service (http://uc.princeton.edu and www.youtube.com/uchannel) to make public lectures and research conferences available online. Academic institutions and centers in all countries are welcome to join and upload material. Researchers are invited to use tags, RSS feeds, and other technical features (e.g., on the Youtube interface) to create global virtual colloquia series and build large-scale collaboration systems. In the long run, the service also may help to inform and improve the international policy process.
