Background

Recognised as study group in 1995; granted research committee status in 1999.

Objectives

Aims to evolve a new conceptual and analytical tool for the evaluation of the performance of an administrative system. It explores possibilities of making “administrative culture” one of the evaluative criteria for purposes of evolving a conceptual framework for comparing administrative systems operating in different cultural settings (regions and continents).

It thus strives to explore the possibility and devise the feasibility of introducing a “cultural approach” to the study of administrative systems. It studies behavioural patterns, orientations, value structures and belief-systems of ad-ministrators and the impact of these variables in modifying and influencing administrative performance.
