About ParticipationParticipation is the printed bulletin of the International Political Science Association. Publication of Participation began in the spring of 1977 as an initiative of the IPSA Secretariat, then located in Ottawa. Since then, it has appeared regularly two/three times a year, and has become well known as the primary mechanism for internal communications within IPSA. In addition to the regular issues, special supplements were also issued on a regular basis to provide documentary information on various IPSA-related bodies ad activities.
When the IPSA Secretariat moved to Dublin in 1994, the Secretary General, John Coakley, continued this pattern of production. The transfer of the Secretariat to Montréal in January 2001 has been marked by a similar commitment to uphold this tradition. The new IPSA web page has become another tool to reach out individual, collective and associate members.
The editorial policy of Participation is to codify reporting concerning the progress of Political Science as a discipline by placing articles in one of three clearly defined sections. IPSA News, which deals with news from the Executive or other events organized by IPSA; news from national associations, which are IPSA’s collective members; and news from research committees, which carry out the great bulk of IPSA’s academic work between congresses.
Do not hesitate to contact us to submit content for Participation.
