Biography
Prof G. Gopal Reddy is currently Member, University Grants Commission (Higher Education Regulatory Authority, Government of India), New Delhi. He is a member of the Advisory Committee of the Indian Council for Social Science Research, Southern Regional Centre, 2017-19. He received his Master’s Degree and Ph.D. from Osmania University. He joined as Assistant Professor in Osmania University in 1988. He has 34 years of research and teaching experience. He has guided a number of students in their research endeavours.He has published 6 books, 2 book reviews and 24 research articles in various national and international journals. He has completed 3 UGC research projects. He has attended several National and International conferences and has organized several national conferences/seminars in the Department of Political Science, Osmania University. He has received India-ASEAN Friendship Award from the Centre for Southeast Asian and Pacific Studies, Sri Venkateshwara University Tirupati, National Senior Political Scientist Award from Indian Political Science Association and the Best Presented Paper Award from the American Studies Research Centre. He has served as the President and Vice - President of the Indian Political Science Association. He was a member, Board of Governance (2014-18) Research Committee on Asian and Pacific Studies, International Political Science Association. He was a council member of International Political Science Association. He has held several administrative positions in various universities. He has served as the Dean, Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, Palamuru University. He was the Principal, University Post Graduate College, Secunderabad. He was the Joint-Director, Centre for Professional and Allied Studies. He has served as Vice-Principal, University Post Graduate College. He is the Vice-Chairman of Indian Institute of Public Administration, Telangana Chapter 2016-20. He has been the Vice- President of Vijaynagar Vidya Samithi since 2016. He is the Treasurer of Institute of Asian Studies. He was the Chairman, Organising Committee, 55th All India Political Science Conference. He was a member of the Executive Committee, Institute of Asian Studies, 2013-2015. He has been the Secretary of Rachana Educational Society since 1992 and was the Correspondent Rachana Journalism College. He was the Correspondent of Vijaynagar College of Commerce. He was an executive member in Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi and Institute of Asian Studies, Hyderabad. He is a Life Member, International Political Science Association, Indian Political Science Association, Indian Institute of Public Administration,New Delhi, Osmania University Center for International Programmes and various other prestigious associations.
